Recorded live at Sisyphus Brewing in Minneapolis on April 11th, this is our first ever live show… Is how this post used to start before the recording of our live show was lost in an epic tech meltdown!
But never fear, Mike and Conor have reunited to rediscuss the Ready Player One movie, in possibly more depth than even the original discussion! Did it live up to the expectations of the gunter faithful? Or did Spielberg pull a Pendergast? Most importantly: Were there any Battletoads cameos??
Thanks to everyone who came out to the actual live show, and to everyone who encouraged us to share our thoughts even after the disappointment of losing the first recording. Mike will be reprising the first half of the live show on Like Trees Walking, available shortly. And as always, Conor’s Pole Vault Championship of the Entire Universe novel is available on Kindle and in Paperback.

Bless you for going above and beyond the call of duty by doing this.
My defense of “war-torn battle games” vs. “fear of scary movie”: Most action/war/battle movies have so much going on at once that no stake is particularly high on its own, and you don’t have time to really think about the ramifications of what’s going on. It’s just a lot of noise and chaos and adrenaline. And all of that is a far cry from “waves of unexplainable elevator blood.”
The great thing about shutting it down on Tuesdays and Thursdays, is there’s NO way that will cause global confusion in other parts of the world on Wednesdays or Fridays.
Also, I know it’s too late to offer useful criticism since the podcast is done, but I kinda wish you would have talked a bit more about BattleToads at the end, it was way too short.
